Health Information Technology Advisory Committee - Pursuant to 42 USC 300jj-12, the Republican Leader appointed Dr. Jim Jirjis, Nashville, Tennessee.

Commission on International Religious Freedom - Pursuant to section 201(b) of the International Religious Freedom Act of 1998 (22 U.S.C. 6431) and the order of the House of January 3, 2019, the Speaker appointed Mr. Nury Turkel of Alexandria, Virginia, to succeed Dr. Tenzin Dorjee.

Health Information Technology Advisory Committee - Pursuant to section 4003(e) of the 21st Century Cures Act (Public Law 114-255), and the order of the House of January 3, 2019, the Speaker appointed Dr. Steven Lane, Palo Alto, California.

Without objection, if a veto message on H.J. Res. 76 is laid before the House, then after the message is read and the objections of the President are spread at large upon the Journal, further consideration of the veto message and the joint resolution shall be postponed until the legislative day of Thursday May 28, 2020; and that on that legislative day, the House shall proceed to the constitutional question of reconsideration and dispose of such question without intervening motion.

COVERED PERIOD - Pursuant to section 1(a) of House Resolution 965, the Chair announced the Speaker's designation on May 20, 2020, of a "covered period".

The House received a communication from Paul D. Irving, Sergeant at Arms. Pursuant to section 1(a) of House Resolution 965, following consultation with the Office of Attending Physician, Mr. Irving notified the House of an ongoing public health emergency due to a novel coronavirus.

The House received a message from the Clerk. Pursuant to the permission granted in Clause 2(h) of Rule II of the Rules of the U.S. House of Representatives, the Clerk notified the House that she had received the following message from the Secretary of the Senate on May 22, 2020 at 10:29 a.m.: That the Senate passed S. 945, S. 1130, S. 1380, S. 2927, S. 3782, and agreed to S. Res. 583.

PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE - The Chair designated Mr. Davidson of OH to lead the Members in reciting the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag.

SPEAKER'S APPROVAL OF THE JOURNAL - Pursuant to section 4(a) of H. Res. 967, the Journal of the last day's proceedings was approved.
