MORNING-HOUR DEBATE - The House proceeded with Morning-Hour Debate. At the conclusion of Morning-Hour, the House will recess until 12:00 p.m. for the start of legislative business.

The Speaker designated the Honorable Brian K. Fitzpatrick to act as Speaker pro tempore for today.

A resolution recognizing the roles and contributions of the teachers of the United States in building and enhancing the civic, cultural, and economic well-being of the United States. (05/16/2017 legislative day)

A resolution recognizing the contributions of senior volunteers and designating the week of May 15 through 19, 2017, as "National Senior Corps Week". (05/16/2017 legislative day)

A resolution celebrating April 30 through May 6, 2017, as "National Small Business Week" and commending the entrepreneurial spirit of small businesses owners in the United States. (05/16/2017 legislative day)

A resolution supporting the goals and ideals of National Nurses Week, to be observed from May 6 through May 12, 2017. (05/16/2017 legislative day)

Subsequently, the Chair did not determine whether the resolution constituted a question of privilege. The Chair announced that a determination will be made at the time designated for consideration of the resolution.
